A second-round showing and a 20-win season are satisfying results for head coach Scott Mair and the Culver City Centaurs Girls Soccer team (20-6 overall and 7-2-1 in league), which recently lost, 2-1, to the Oaks Christian Lions to conclude the season.

Culver City topped Summit, 7-2, in the first round.

Lili Valverde, who scored three goals and had three assists in a late-season win at Beverly Hills, was selected as team player of the week.

“She has been rock solid all year,” Mair said of the graduating senior.

Former junior varsity squad star goaltender Daniella Gutierrez was also recently named a player of the week, giving up only one goal in a recent game for the varsity squad.
