Ugo’s celebrates 10-year anniversary

Ugo’s Italian cafe has been a staple in Culver City. The restaurant, located on the corner of Cardiff Avenue in downtown, is planning some big changes to celebrate their 10-year anniversary.

“We are currently closed doing a major renovation of the inside and the

outside. For the inside we are knocking down the wall that separated our two

restaurants and will make it just one restaurant with one menu. For the outside

we are enclosing the outdoor patio for comfortable seating in all weather

conditions,” said owner Ugo Pascarella.

The updated menu will still include Ugo’s popular dishes but will incorporate some brand new items. Handmade pasta, which you will be able to see the chef making daily is sure to be a hit.

Another exciting addition to the chef’s kitchen is a brand new pizza oven shipped directly from Naples, Italy.

“We are excited to be offering Ugo Neapolitan Pizza. This pizza is

unique and made in the authentic Neapolitan style. It will be made with our

wood burning pizza oven that we have purchased from Naples,” said Pascarella.

The oven was hand built by Stefano Ferrara, a third generation pizza oven maker from Naples. His family has been making pizza ovens for over 100 years.

“Our pizza will be cooked in this oven that burns at over 900 degrees and cooks the pizza in about 60 seconds. This is the same way pizza has been made in Naples, the birthplace of pizza, for over 200 years,” said Pascarella.

The oven traveled by boat to the east cost, was trucked across country and was delivered to Ugo’s, it’s final home.

Ugo’s will reopen at in May.
