MOVE Culver City survey results now available online

The recent results of the survey from the public relating to the MOVE Culver City project are now available to view in full online.

According to a statement from the City, “The survey results will be added to the input received from community comments, focus groups, and other data sources to inform the overall project evaluation. A post pilot report, containing analysis of all data collected throughout the pilot will be available in mid-April 2023.”

MOVE Culver City was first implemented in November 2021, as a means to provide safe, reliable, and equitable access to transportation services.

“The project created dedicated bus and bicycle lanes in both directions by reducing car and vehicle traffic to one lane in both directions,” reads a statement. “To improve safety and encourage the use of public transportation, cycling, and walking, MOVE Culver City includes new pedestrian walkways and crossings, traffic signals, bus stop improvements, the new Downtown Circulator, and scooter and bikeshare programs.”

The survey, which can be viewed at moveculvercity.com, was conducted between March 4-9 of this year, with 413 Culver residents interviewed via telephone calls, email and texts messages.

38 percent of those interviewed strongly favored the project, while 58 percent strongly opposed it. Those numbers softened after interviewees were presented with the project description; 41 percent strongly opposed while 19 percent somewhat opposed it.
