A letter to the Culver City Mobility, Traffic and Parking Subcommittee:

Our dedicated mobility bus lane in downtown Culver City makes the traffic lane a NON-mobility lane. Traffic is dead stopped through Culver City for much of the day and particularly at rush hour. Drivers use our residential neighborhoods as cut through streets, only to idle in traffic near our homes. Perhaps a toxicity study is in order to see how much exhaust we are subjected to because of these idling cars.

Some drivers, police, parking enforcement and fire use the bus lane as a convenient way to circumvent traffic. Busses, on the other hand, are few and far between. This is a failed experiment. Let’s move Culver City by deleting the mobility lane.
