Expo line plans maintenance this month

For those planning to ride the Expo Line to downtown Los Angeles, to Culver City or other Westside locations during the next couple of weekends, you’ll have to make alternative transportation plans.

The light rail line will be out of commission beginning Feb. 10 beginning at 9 p.m. until approximately 2 a.m. on Feb. 12 between the Culver City station and the Bundy Drive station.

Weekend service will also be interrupted from the Sepulveda Boulevard station and the downtown Santa Monica station beginning on 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb 24 until the end of service on Feb. 26.

Metro officials say Skanska/ Rados Joint Venture, the contractor that built the 8.6 mile light rail line, will be doing maintenance and repair work on the tracks.

Bus shuttles will provide transportation to passengers during the two weekends when the light line will be closed.

According to Metro statistics, the Expo Line has a daily ridership of 43,200.
