Crime blotter: July 26 – Aug. 2

Stolen Car

A man in the 5600 block of Corryne Place called police on July 27 at 3 a.m. about a stolen truck. He reported that the truck was parked at 2 a.m. and was missing an hour later.

Commercial Burglary

A man reported his business in the 3500 block of Schaefer Street had been broken into. He said he left at 3 p.m. on July 27 and returned just before 9 a.m. the next day to find an open window and missing property.

Forgery

A man called police on July 28 at 11 a.m. about several missing checks from his check book. He said two women attempted to cash a personal check in his name but fled after discovering they could not do so.

Robbery

A man in the 4000 block of Centinela Avenue called to report a robbery on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. The man said he saw a male place a DVD into his bag and walk away. The thief punched the man when he attempted to stop him.

Vandalism

A woman told police that someone spray-painted her garage in the 5000 block of Pickford Way on July 31 between noon and 3 p.m.

Commercial Burglary

On July 31 at 7 p.m., a man told police a burglar cut holes in the doors of a building in the 5700 block of Buckingham Parkway and stole merchandise from within.
