A transient suspected of killing another homeless man in Venice was behind bars today. Frank Smith, 52, was arrested in an attack that left a man fatally injured in the 600 block of Rose Avenue last week, according to Los Angeles police at the Pacific Section. Police said a witness called and reported seeing the victim get punched and fall to the pavement, where he hit his head. The victim died at a hospital on Sunday. His name was being withheld until his family could be located.
