Santa and Frosty Zoom into Culver City

In lieu of an actual sleigh ride through the city due to COVID-19, the Culver City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department will be hosting Zoom meetings with Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman to get Culver City kids into the Christmas spirit.

These Zooms will be held every weekend leading up to Christmas — Dec. 5 and 6, Dec. 12 and 13, and Dec. 19 and 20 — with the Saturday Zooms happening between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. and the Sunday meetings between 4 and 7 p.m.

While the Culver City Police Department traditionally conducts its annual Santa Sleigh trips to celebrate Christmas with the community, the COVID-19 pandemic has derailed these plans, and given the PRCS Department an opportunity to try their hand at Culver City’s Christmas celebration.

Due to the restrictions coming from the event being virtual, families will have to sign up for individual meeting times online, as opposed to simply running to a sleigh as it comes around to your neighborhood.

Meetings cost just $15, and will get families a time slot with their choice of Santa or Frosty that includes the following:

An official invitation from Santa or Frosty sent from the North Pole with the live link to your family’s personal zoom meeting with Santa or Frosty.

A short questionnaire from the elves with a few questions about your little one’s favorite things and wishes this holiday season.

A 7 to 10 minute chat with our Santa or Frosty in real-time via Zoom.

Following the zoom, a Holiday Craft Crate and personalized letter from Santa or Frosty will be sent to the children involved.

Additionally, Holiday Craft Crates with a letter from the elves at the North Pole are available for individual purchase at $5 per crate.
