Klayman now member of City’s community support

Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department brings in Valerie “Billie” Klayman, M.A., licensed marriage and family therapist, as an additional team member available for community support.

Residents are invited to come in and say hello to Klayman. She is available Wednesday and Friday afternoons at the Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave. She can be reached by phone and receives messages at 310-253-6717.

For more than seven years, Klayman served as a volunteer where she was instrumental in creating a partnership with Antioch University Counseling Center to make mental health support available at the Senior Center. She began while interning as a support group leader for groups focusing on the difficulties incurred as we age and how to create meaning during this process.

Klayman also volunteered as a drop-in counselor, and this program is still offered on the first and third Saturdays of each month from noon to 2 p.m.

In practice of therapy for 11 years, Klayman has been fully licensed since July 18, 2012. She identifies herself as a Meaning Centered Therapist and believes that all of us can create happiness in our lives.
