Farragut school teacher among wounded in Las Vegas shooting

In the wake of the shooting at the country music festival across the street from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas strip last week that killed at least 59 people and injured more than 500, it emerged this week that Culver City schoolteacher Kortney Spencer was hit in the leg with a bullet.

The Culver City Unified School District has said that Spencer is stable, but that her family has requested privacy while she recovers.

A week after the shooting by Stephen Paddock, and the country is still in shock. Paddock’s motives remain unclear, and both gun control advocates and firearm advocacy groups are taking the opportunity to voice their concerns.

Readers wanting to send wishes of a quick recovery to Spencer, can direct them to Farragut school or to editor@culvercitynews.org.
