City celebrates Disability Awareness Month with kids carnival

Disability Awareness Month Kids Carnival – On October 19th, the Annual Kids Carnival Celebrating “Disability Awareness Month” took place at the Senior Center, with a record attendance of over 400 children, families and community members. Event participants enjoyed a petting zoo, carnival games and prizes, karaoke, community resource tables, food and beverages, craft projects and a photo booth – all free of charge.

Since its inception, Culver City Girl Scouts have been partners in the event, this year providing more than 40 carnival game volunteers. Additionally, the PRCS Department and the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) gratefully acknowledge the event’s sponsors: the Culver City Exchange Club and the Culver City Senior Citizens Association. Without their generous monetary and volunteer support, this annual event would not be possible. The Senior Center’s Jill Thomsen is pictured above with a participant.
