Pianist Célian Trouillot-Poète has a Sunday morning residency at the Culver Hotel, so he told the News about what he has coming up to thrill Culver City…
Describe your sound…
It’s a mix between different influences such as Jazz, neo soul and classical. At the hotel, I play covers of songs, such as “Misty”, “And I Love Her,” “Just The Two Of Us”… and I also improvise a lot of songs on the spot.
What are your career highlights so far?
I played in many places here in California.
Do you have any recorded music available?
I currently don’t have official music out, but I post regularly my piano playing videos on Instagram (@celian_tp).
How long have you been performing at the Culver Hotel?
I’ve been playing since May, so approximately seven months now. No particular memories, but great interactions with people about music and life.
What do you have planned for your sets over the holidays?
For the holidays I included a few Christmas songs, but mostly I keep improvising a lot on the spot.
What else do you have coming up?
I am currently writing and recording some ideas, and hopefully will be able to release them in the future.
