CC man arrested following weekend stabbing incident

A man was arrested over the weekend following a stabbing incident in Culver City on Sunday. The charge is attempted murder.

The Culver City Police Department said that the incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 6:05 p.m. in the Slauson Avenue / Buckingham Parkway area. 

A statement from the CCPD reads, “Officers met with the victim who advised them that he was walking on Buckingham Parkway when the suspect approached him while wearing a ski mask and gloves. The suspect walked behind the victim and forcefully removed his backpack.  As the victim resisted, the suspect stabbed the victim several times with a large butcher knife, causing multiple lacerations to the victim’s back and arm.”

According to the CCPD, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies received the original radio call and responded.  

“Upon arrival, they located and detained the suspect.  The victim was treated for his injuries by Los Angeles County Fire Department Personnel and transported to a local hospital where he received further treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was transported and booked at the Culver City Police Department. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing considerations.”
