2018-19 Special Events Grant program taking applications

City sets deadline set for April 24

The City of Culver City opens its Call for Applications for the 2018-19 Special Events Grant Program (“Program”).

Adopted in January 2017 by the City Council, the Program is intended to provide event organizers a centralized process to initiate requests to the City for funding and sponsorship as part of a streamlined system of greater fiscal transparency and improved budget reliability.

Eligible special events can be a community and/or charitable with a recreational, cultural and/or social benefit to Culver City residents or large-scale, signature events that regionally promote — and provide measurable economic benefits too —the Culver City community.

Grant awards will be offered in the form of fee waivers for City permits or in-kind and/or direct staffing services.

Applicants for events requesting program support between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019, may apply.

To be considered for grant funding, organizers must register online to attend a mandatory pre-application meeting and then submit an electronic application through the City’s website.

The 2018-19 Special Event Grant Program application period closes at 11:59 p.m. (PST) on Tuesday, April 24.
