West Los Angeles College to offer Loyola Marymont-led program

Loyola Marymount University signed an agreement to allow guaranteed admission for West Los Angeles College students to the university’s College of Business Administration, the schools announced Wednesday.

The new LMU-WLAC Business Scholars Program “will provide a pathway for community college students wishing to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration from LMU.”

Students would have to meet specific grade and unit requirements to gain admission. Those students in the program will receive personalized counseling support and access to LMU facilities, career expositions, and workshops.

The decision was scheduled to be announced Wednesday at West Los Angeles College. The agreement will be formalized during a WLAC board meeting. The junior college is in Culver City.

Leaders from Loyola Marymount University and West Los Angeles College came together on Wednesday, Dec. 12, to sign an agreement enabling West students to receive guaranteed admission to LMU’s College of Business Administration after meeting specific GPA and unit requirements.

The new LMU-WLAC Business Scholars Program will provide a pathway for community college students wishing to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration from LMU.

Scholars in the program will receive personalized counseling support from the WLAC Transfer Honors Program and LMU Office of Transfer Admission and Enrollment Services, and gain access to LMU facilities, career expos, workshops and coaches, athletics events and more.

The agreement will be formalized during the WLAC board meeting.
