Culver City’s Veterans Memorial Hall was filled to the brim Saturday night with fans clamoring to watch the two top squads of the Angel City Derby Girls – the Rockets Queens and the Hollywood Scarlets – take on a pair of squads from Central Coast Roller Derby. It was a night of hard-hitting roller derby action. The night was filled with fast jams, hard hits and non-stop strategy.

Crowd favorite Ms. Defiant said she couldn’t be prouder of her team. “Our game was just on. Ghetto Fab looked fab and Christy Yamagotcha really got the other jammers stuck with her amazing offensive jamming,” Defiant said.

Rachel Rotten was back at full power after being forced to the sidelines at the start of the season with a broken wrist suffered in a brutal fall. Fans weren’t disappointed with her return.

“The Rocket Queens were elated to win by their biggest margin yet, after having played nail-bitingly close games early in the season,” Rotten said. “It’s motivating to see where our hard work is taking us. The Queens were strongly aided by skilled jammers like Hitney Fears and Killanois, and equally strong blockers like Reno Revolver and Albatoss.”

ACDG swept the double header, with the Rocket Queens winning 193-50 and the Hollywood Scarlets outscoring the girls from the Central Coast 218-54.
