Crime Blotter; Oct. 18-24

Car burglary

On Oct. 18, at 11:30 a.m., a victim called the police department to report her 2008 Toyota had been broken into. The victim said she parked and locked her vehicle on Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of Green Valley Circle. When she returned the next morning, she discovered her driver side window was broken and her property missing.

Residential burglary

On Oct. 1, at 12:45 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Schaefer Street regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them she left her home at 8 a.m. and returned at 12:30 p.m. She entered her home and discovered unknown suspect(s) had ransacked and removed her property.

Assault

On Oct. 19, at 11 p.m., a victim called the police department to report he was assaulted near the intersection of Braddock Drive and Lafayette Place. The victim said he was riding his bicycle when a car passed him and the driver yelled several obscenities at him. The car then stopped and the suspect exited the vehicle and struck the victim with a closed fist and then fled the area.

Vandalism

On Oct. 20, at 6:45 p.m., a victim called the police department to report his 2007 Honda had been vandalized. The victim said he parked and locked his vehicle in the 6000 block of Canterbury Drive on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle the next day, he discovered his driver side passenger window had been broken.

Stolen Vehicle

On Oct. 21, at noon, officers responded to the 6000 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a stolen car investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he parked and locked his 1990 Toyota at 9:15 a.m. and when he returned at 11:50 a.m., his vehicle was missing.
