Another busy sports week for Culver City High

Six Culver City High School athletic teams will be in action this week. All six teams hope to make the playoffs in a few weeks which have become a trade mark of Culver City athletics. A sports program on any level is defined by making the playoffs and the majority of the Centaurs teams continue to reach that elite level of competition.

On Saturday the baseball team travels to Kennedy in Granada Hills for a 11 a.m. game and next Tuesday they stay on the road when they face Hawthorne at 3:15 p.m. in an Ocean league game. The Centaurs at 6-12 overall and 2-2 in league play.

The boys and girls track and field teams will battle Santa Monica today on the road at 3 p.m. The unbeaten Centaurs will have their hands full against the Vikings that always have good track and field teams.

The boys volleyball team is currently 7-7 and 4-2 in league play and they have a match today (Thursday) at home against Wiseburn Da Vinci at 4:30 p.m.

The softball team is currently 7-5 and 2-0 in league and they battle Santa Monica today (Thursday) at 3:15 p.m. at home. This game will probably determine first place in the Ocean league.
