Tree Lighting on Dec. 7

The community can celebrate peace, good will and the holiday season at this annual event in downtown Culver City Thursday, Dec. 7 starting at 6 p.m. Visitors can see Santa Claus as he makes a visit from the North Pole. Downtown Culver City businesses provide the hot ciderhot cocoacookies and other festive treats that are sure to make everyone feel merry.

There will be performances by folk dancing groups and local choirs, as well as appearances by the mayor and city council members.

Culver City makes this holiday celebration “green” and energy efficient, lighting a beautiful 22-foot Rocky Mountain pine tree with over 7,500 warm-white LED lights. Stay afterwards for dinner at one of downtown Culver City’s many restaurants, or take a stroll down the boulevards. Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and unique restaurants opening on to tree-lined streets.
