Summertime Cinema back at Westfield Culver City

Westfield Culver City is going back to the movies with its annual Summertime Cinema event.

Every Friday beginning July 10 to Aug. 7, Westfield Culver City will host movie night on a large screen in the Promenade area, screening five of the biggest family-friendly films in recent years. Along with each screening will be tie-in activities and a raffle for prizes.

Interested attendees are encouraged to bring a low chair or blanket and favorite snacks. Admission is free.

The event kicks off Friday, July 10 with a screening of “The Lego Movie.” A mega block art building contest will occur before the screening with the best builder winning a $50 American Express gift card.

On July 17, “Cinderella” will be screened with a special reading of the story before the movie. The book will then be signed and raffled off after the screening.

“Big Hero 6” will take center stage on July 24 with attendees being encouraged to take pictures with life-size cutouts of Baymax and Hiro and then sharing those photos with Instagram using the hash tags, #Summertimecinema or #WestfieldCulver for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

The 1993 classic “Jurassic Park” will feature prominently on July 31 with pet fluffy puppies dressed as dinosaurs before the movie’s screening.

Summertime Cinema will finish off with a screening of Pixar’s “Up” on August 7 with a special visit from a balloon sculptor before the movie.

Westfield Culver City is located at 6000 Sepulveda Blvd in Culver City.
