Students to shadow Kaiser personnel

About 12 high school students from Culver City and Inglewood school districts will take part in Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles’ annual Job Shadow Day at three Kaiser medical offices today.

The students will spend the day shadowing Kaiser Permanente employees, including laboratory personnel, pharmacy technicians, and physicians – which will give students a first-hand look at careers in health care.

“Kaiser Permanente is committed fostering the education of individuals in the communities we serve, by providing opportunities to explore potential future careers in medicine,” a Kaiser spokesperson said.

Participating students will also have an opportunity to tour the medical facility and see departments, such as the pharmacy and lab, and will take part in a “Q&A with Providers” session, where students will meet with providers in a small-group setting to ask any questions they may have about the careers in health care.

The event is from 9:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.at Kaiser offices in Inglewood, Culver Marina, and Playa Vista.
