Riot skates to the top

Scait Riot is a phenomenal leader on and off the track. Having transferred from Silicon Valley Roller Girls in Northern California, Scait has been skating with Angel City Derby Girls since July 2011 with the Hollywood Scarlets.

As the head of ACDG’s new recruits program, Scait is always encouraging and motivating girls who are brand new to roller derby.

With Scait’s patience and guidance, the new recruits have been advancing to the”Fresh Meat” program as fierce as ever.

Scait has been instrumental with moving the new recruits program from Thursdays at Moonlight, to Saturdays at the Angel’s warehouse.

Having been out most of the season due to a broken ankle, Scait’s still attends every practice with enthusiasm and encouragement for her all her derby sisters.

With Scait’s positive attitude, she is pushing herself to a speedy recovery to be back on track as an essential pivot/blocker for the Hollywood Scarlets.

ACDG’s next bout is a double header against the Peninsula Roller Girls on Aug. 17 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium located at 4117 Overland Ave. The match starts at 5 p.m. For more information visit
