Based on the most beloved romantic stories of all time, Broadway in Hollywood is presenting the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood (on Hollywood Blvd. where the original romantic adventure begins) through July 3. The tour will also play in Costa Mesa at Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts from July 5 – July 17. And if you love the original movie as much as I do, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with this entertaining adaptation which welcomes you back onto “Hollywood, the land where dreams are made!”

Brought to the stage by lead producer Paula Wagner, ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ springs to life with a powerhouse creative team led by two-time Tony Award®-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (HairsprayKinky BootsLegally Blonde), featuring an original score by Grammy® winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (“Summer of ’69”, “Heaven”), and a book by the movie’s legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton. Featured in the musical is Roy Orbison and Bill Dees international smash hit song “Oh, Pretty Woman” during which the audience is invited to join in singing with the cast.

Set in 1980s Hollywood, the touring company of ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ stars Broadway superstar and Tony Award®-nominee Adam Pascal as Edward Lewis and rising star Olivia Valli as the charming and charismatic Vivian Ward. With their incredible voices and dynamic stage presence as the iconic duo from opposite sides of the tracks, these two bring all of the magic to the romantic notion that anyone’s dreams can come true – from the moment they meet on the Hollywood Blvd. bus stop to their amorous adventures at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, to the Beverly Hills Polo Club match and the opera in San Francisco.

Other outstanding cast members include Jessica Crouch as Vivian’s roommate and fellow streetwalker Kit De Luca and Kyle Taylor Parker as the Happy Man of the Boulevard as well as the manager of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Both incredible triple-threat entertainers will astound you with their energy-filled, character-driven performances. So will Trent Soyster as Bellhop Giulio, who commands your attention with his antics, especially when he and Taylor Parker tango their way across the stage together!

Kudos to the energetic ensemble who take on a multitude of roles and bring excitement to every single number thanks to director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell’s exuberance for the story, and music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke, directed and conducted by Daniel Klintworth. Amma Osei and Christian Douglas mesmerized the audience with their incredibly skillful operatic duet as Violetta and Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata, the opera Edward whisks Vivian away to experience in San Francisco. And yes, Vivian is in that iconic red dress and jewels!

Produced by New Regency Productions, Pretty Woman the film was an international smash hit when it was released in 1990. Now, 30 years later, ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ delivers on all the iconic moments you remember. Get ready to experience this dazzling theatrical take on a love story for the ages, guaranteed to lift your spirits and light up your heart.
