Local Blacklight Dance Theatre Co. brings arts activism to Culver City

Critical Mass Dance Company, Los Angeles’ only blacklight dance theatre company, will perform their most cherished work, AmaTerra, in Culver City on Saturday, June 25.

The performance starts at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.) at Ivy Substation, 9076 Venice Blvd., Culver City. It will feature illuminated flow arts, aerial arts, blacklight dance and an inspirational, family-friendly message about transformation and environmental stewardship.

AmaTerra has toured around Southern California since its premiere in 2014. It has reached more than 500 community members with its story of personal healing and activism. Critical Mass Dance Company has performed AmaTerra (or excerpts) at Los Angeles venues such as the Electric Lodge, Antioch University, Miles Playhouse, CSU Dominguez Hills, Greenway Court Theatre and Diavolo.

This performance is made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
