Kudos for animal control
I found a male German Shepherd in my neighborhood recently and Animal Service Officer Corolla Fleeger came immediately to pick him up. She took him to the spcaLA Hawthorne location.
I am so grateful that he was taken to this location because Alma Vera, the pet adoption manager, was wonderful. Alma was available and willing to help as I searched for this GSD’s family.
When no one claimed this beautiful dog (I’ve since named Mikey), the staff worked with me to have him released so that I could care for him until a new home is found. I cannot express my gratitude for Alma and the staff, because without their compassion I can hardly imagine what would have happened to Mikey.

I so appreciate the stories on the schools in Culver City. The photos of the kids teaching the teachers about recycling were adorable. David LaRose is doing such good things for our school system.
