Last week’s front page article, “Environmental activists dismayed by assemblywoman” [the News, Sept. 1] inaccurately stated that Rep. Karen Bass (D-Culver City) attended the opening of the Ballona Creek Renaissance Bike Path. The event attended by the assemblywoman was for the Culver City Ballona Creek Bikeway Project, which improved the existing bike path between Overland Avenue and the pedestrian bridge. While Ballona Creek Renaissance participated in the city’s project and helped set the stage through earlier planning efforts, the bike path has not been renamed in its honor. However, BCR is proud to be associated with the project, which truly reflects the ongoing renaissance of Ballona Creek.
