IKEA officially opened the doors of its newest location in Culver City this week, celebrating with a soft ribbon cutting ceremony, community stakeholders, and a vibrant public grand opening block party that welcomed thousands of Angelenos to experience IKEA in the heart of the city.

Located in the Helms Design District, IKEA Culver City marks the first IKEA store within the city of Los Angeles, bringing thoughtfully designed, affordable home furnishings closer to urban customers through a format tailored for local living.

Opening week featured a soft opening on April 29 with local officials, community leaders, and media, followed by a high-energy grand opening block party on May 2. Thousands of guests – some lining up as early as 3a.m. – celebrated with live music, local artist activations,

food sampling, and special giveaways, creating a festive welcome to the new store.

“This opening is about more than a new store, it is about becoming part of the Los Angeles community,” said Briana Lehman, Market Manager, IKEA Los Angeles.

IKEA Culver City offers a curated showroom experience featuring approximately 4,000 products on display and over 3,000 items available for immediate takeaway. Customers can also order larger furniture pieces for home delivery or pick up.

The celebration featured collaborations with local artists including UPENDO, Muralist Mister Toledo, Mariachi Folklore, and the Chloe Perrier Quartet, reflecting the energy and diversity of the community.

With its doors now open, IKEA Culver City is set to become a destination for inspiration, connection, and accessible design in Los Angeles.
