The Culver City Garden Club’s 68th annual Garden Show and Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will return to the Teen Center 4153 Overland Ave., Culver City. The garden show has always been an admission-free, family-friendly event that’s open to the public. We feature a professionally judged Exhibition of homegrown plants, flowers, edibles, and gardening-related photography, art, crafts, etc. Club members and anyone in the community including schools can enter their favorite items for display and awards. A Plant Sale complements the Exhibition offering a variety of popular and unusual plants, whilst vendors market an eclectic mix of plants and garden-related products for sale. This year we’ll again “The Gottlieb Native Garden Art Exhibit” that celebrates the backyard garden of G2 Gallery owners Susan and Dan Gottlieb. There will be gardening Workshops twice each day. Raffles of plants, garden supplies and accessories, gift certificates, and other donations from area businesses will be held each morning and each afternoon. ABOUT THE CLUB The Club is a non-profit organization established in 1953. Our founders shared a common interest in gardening and the life lessons nature provides. They included GIs, returning from World War II, who settled in Southern California with their families. Today’s members live throughout the Los Angeles Westside. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Some of our community projects and outreach activities include assisting area schools, green community services, an annual show Both Vice Mayor Vera and Council Member Eriksson said that it’s not ready for the ballot, but the item still passed 3-2
