Fleet finishes fifth

Since 2003, the Equipment Maintenance & Fleet Services Division has been participating and competing in a North American fleet certification program to permanently augment operational efficiencies and embrace the philosophy of continuous improvement.

Of the more than 38,000 municipal fleets in North America, Culver City was named the fifth-best fleet in North America for 2011 for its exceptional qualities, specifically in productivity, accountability, efficiency, goals and meeting or exceeding the required objectives. Equipment maintenance manager Paul Condran was named runner-up in the Fleet Manager of the Year award.

In 2004, Culver City was named in the Top 100 Fleets for the first time, and in 2005 and 2006, the division was named the seventh best fleet on the continent, with more than 5,000 municipal fleets participating.

In 2007, Culver City continued to be included in the top 20 fleets. In 2008, Culver City was named the 12th best fleet in North America. In 2009, the city placed fifth and last year finished seventh.
