Crime Blotter: Jan. 25-31

Assault

A male told police that on Jan. 25 about 1 p.m., he was standing in the area of Dunn Pants, in the 5700 block of Washington Boulevard, when he was approached by another male, who asked him a question, then immediately punched him, knocking him to the ground. The assailant then ran away.

Vandalism

On Jan. 26, about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to an alarm in the 3800 block of Overland Avenue, where the window of a business had been broken by a rock. The business had been closed since 9 p.m. the day before. Nothing was reported stolen.

Residential Burglary

A female told police that someone had ransacked her home in the 9000 block of Carson Street while she was away. She said that she locked her home and left it about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 25. She returned the following morning and found the place ransacked. It was unclear if anything was stolen.

Identity Theft

On Jan. 29, at 3:20 p.m., a male told police that he was a victim of identity theft. He said he was checking his bank statement and noticed that someone had gained access to his account and withdrawn money.
