At l:02 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, CCPD officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in response to reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a female with a gunshot wound to her left forearm. Officers “quickly rendered aid, applying a tourniquet to control significant bleeding until Culver City Fire Department personnel arrived,” Jason Sims, CCPD Chief of Police said in a press statement.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for her arm wound.
Police investigators said that the victim has been approached by a “group of suspects, described as several males and one female who attempted to rob her of her electric bicycle,” police said.

“Officers conducted thorough searches of the area, but were unable to locate the suspects,” Sims said in a statement. The investigation is active and ongoing.
