Investigations are ongoing after a car on the run from California Highway Patrol officers slammed into a freeway guardrail and then crashed into the roof of a Culver City home, authorities said.
The event took place on Saturday, November 16, on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Culver Boulevard, causing hours of stalled traffic.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Dodge Durango lost control of the vehicle as it exited at Culver Boulevard, careened into the guardrail and landed on the roof of a home near the 4200 block of Sawtelle Boulevard.
The home sustained major damage to its living room but no injuries were reported, CHP officers said. The unidentified driver was taken into custody and officers said they found a handgun near the crumpled Durango. It was unclear whether the person was injured.
Authorities said the driver was being sought for driving on the right shoulder of the freeway.
A SigAlert was in place for several hours while the investigation continued.
