Booster Club boots up 2021 with Beer and Bingo event

As the world begins to reboot itself following the pandemic, a lot of gaps still need to be filled. This holds true at Culver City High School, but the Booster Club hopes to help bring some of that back with a Virtual Beer and Bingo Fundraiser event on Saturday, April 17, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets to the event are $50.

The student athletes have had to adapt to change this year and so has the Booster Club,” CCHS athletic director Tom Salter said.  “We’re super excited to be bringing this new virtual event to the community.  It will be a blast and it’s all in support of our students.”

The feature of the event will be a beer tasting for two, held virtually. You will be able to taste four different styles of beer from Los Angeles Ale Works, who will soon be calling Downtown Culver City’s Ivy Station home. Pickup of the beverages will be on April 10, and you will receive more information with your ticket.

Live bingo games will also be called by CCHS coaches and recognizable supporters. A ticket to the event will include one bingo card, but additional cards can also be purchased for $5 a piece.

Celebrity interviews will also be available for attendees, featuring MLB pitcher Ryan Sherriff. Sherriff, who graduated from CCHS in 2008, most recently pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays, who made the 2020 World Series. Additionally, former NFL full back Sam “Bam” Cunningham — who scored a record four touchdowns for USC in the 1973 Rose Bowl — will be speaking about his role in that game at the booster event.

Finally, a silent auction opens on April 10 and extends into the night of the fundraiser. Dozens of items ranging from gift cards to vacation packages will be available.
