Rootsy singer-songwriter group Loud As Folk performs at the Cinema Bar this week, so band member Greg Gilmore told the News about what they have in store for Culver City…

When did you start playing and performing? When did the band form?

I started seriously playing in 2017 at 16 years old.  I fell in love with the idea of writing songs and communicating with people via music.

Describe your sound…

Singer-songwriter, very informed by the greats of songwriting including all of the Traveling Wilburys.

What are your career highlights so far?

Career highlights include opening for Blue Oyster Cult, and creating a subscription-based record club for songwriters called Loud As Folk.

What recorded music is available?

I have my most recent album that I recorded on a rascal cassette deck in my home available on Spotify and every where else music is streamed.

Have you performed at Cinema Bar before?

The Cinema Bar has hosted Loud As Folk since January and we’ve been performing a monthly songwriter showcase ever since.

What can we expect from the set this time?

We will have Dylan Kanner, Lone Quail, and Michael Doyle performing hosted by myself and Buffalo Moses.

What else do you have coming up?

A new songwriter showcase location in Escondido at California Center for the Arts, and hopefully Las Vegas soon.
