The Culver City Police Department announced this week that they had arrested a person on suspicion of a string of catalytic converter thefts.

On Thursday, July 24, officers posted on CCPD social media that, “Today in the early morning hours, CCPD officers spotted a vehicle making a dangerous move near Washington & Harter. When it took off, officers suspected something more…and they were right.”

Upon investigation, officers discovered four stolen catalytic converters and an electric cutting tool with multiple blades inside the suspects vehicle.

“The suspect, currently on Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for grand theft auto and with a history of prior arrests, was taken into custody for grand theft (PC 487) and booked at the Culver City Jail,” they said, before adding, “Sharp eyes. Fast response. Another thief caught.”
