Time to roll Laura Hyslop | Fri, Sep 16 2011 12:39 PM

Culver City School Board candidate Nancy Goldberg is on a roll. The undefeated Rocket Queens of Culver City’s Angel City Derby Girls will square off against Visalia’s V-Town Derby Dames, with the Goldberg campaign receiving 15% of the proceeds.

Goldberg (“Goldie,” as her students call her) is a recently retired award-winning Culver City High School teacher.

“As a school board member, I will be able to continue to contribute to the education of the children of the district,” Goldberg said. “I hope everyone will come to see the girls in action. There really is nothing that compares to the fun and excitement of a derby match.”

The bout is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17, in Veterans Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the game starting at 8 p.m.

To support the Goldberg campaign, order tickets online by using the following link: vor.us/50e or purchase at the box office and state your support for the Goldberg campaign. Tickets are $14, $10 for children under 10, and $25 for VIP seating (first five rows).

For more information about the candidate, call the campaign treasurer, Beverly Peterson at (310) 838-1130.
