Sister City Committee welcomes Japanese runners

Two qualified marathon runners, Daiki Nitta and Hiroko Hamada will be coming to Culver City as guests of the Culver City Sister City Committee to run in the L.A. Marathon.

Two years ago Daiki Nitta was all set to run in the L.A. Marathon as part of our annual Sister City trade with Kaizuka when he got called back into service and had to assist with the devastation in Japan following their multiple disasters.

During their visit they will stay with the runners that represented Culver City in the Senshu Marathon in Osaka in February, Tim Petersen and Michelle Hendrickson.

The Culver City community is invited to attend our Mystery Welcome American BBQ event March 15. There is no charge to attend; however, RSVPs are required. Call Alice at (310) 713-4331and the 6:30 p.m. dinner location will then be revealed.

The Kaizuka runners will be accompanied by several Culver City runners during the marathon and will participate in several activities while touring our city.

March 18 will be another opportunity to meet and say Sayonara to our guests as we’ll host another Mystery location Farewell Dinner party in their honor. This event is also free, but RSVPs are required in order to find out where this Culver City dinner location is. Call Alice at (310) 713-4331.
