In April, Culver City’s Pavilions supermarket will seek to raise money for Easter Seals to help local residents with disabilities. During the month-long campaign, customers will be given the opportunity at every check-out counter to make contributions to Easter Seals. Donations help Easter Seals Disability Services provide job training and employment opportunities, pre-school and after-school services, independent living options that keep people in their own homes, and services that help adults learn daily living and social skills.
“Easter Seals Southern California has seen first-hand the positive impact of the money raised by Vons and Pavilions stores in the six years of this campaign,” said Mark Whitley, CEO of Easter Seals Southern California. “With continuing state budget cuts and belt-tightening for services to people with disabilities across California, their support is as important as ever.”
In 2010, Vons raised more than $1 million in support of Easter Seals Southern California. “Vons is a proud employer of many associates with disabilities and we want to ensure the good work of Easter Seals continues in this challenging economy,” said Daymond Rice, Vons director of public affairs and government relations. “We also know that Easter Seals Southern California consistently ranks among the most-efficient charities at serving people with disabilities. We are proud to support their efforts in our community.”
