High-risk traffic stop shooting

On Jan. 28, a Culver City police officer was involved in a shooting at 9:16 a.m. in the 3800 block of Sawtelle Boulevard.

According to a statement issued by Lt. Ron Iizuka the incident occurred while “officers were conducting a high-risk traffic stop on a vehicle wanted in conjunction with a felony.”

The suspect was not injured and the man was taken into custody. No further details were available on the suspect.

“Any time an officer discharges their weapon a complete and thorough investigation is completed,” said Iizuka.

Culver City police detectives are currently investigating the scene.
