A choir gathered outside of Culver City studios at the start of July, with the purpose of singing to save TV series The Wheel of Time from cancellation.
According to a post on the savewot.com website, “Talented choirs serenade Culver City studios with stirring renditions of “Weep for Manetheren” from The Wheel of Time. This moving song is uniting fans across the globe, fast becoming an anthem for the #SaveWOT Movement.”
“After the heartfelt performance of ‘Weep for Manetheren’ by many of the community’s content creators and the WOTapella Choir, which grew legs and saw many fans on TikTok add their voices to the rendering, choirs descended upon the Culver City Studios harmonising with their own versions of the iconic song,” they continued. “Organised by WoT fan Avendora and in part by Chris Wade Music Productions, The Christmas Matters Holiday Carolers and the RAISE Singers took over Culver City Studios, performing outside both the Amazon and Sony studios at the same time. The Holiday Carolers went in full period regalia, giving off Two Rivers Folk vibes as they warbled the song outside Amazon Studios, a large The Wheel of Time Season Three poster directly behind them.”
The Wheel of Time series was developed by Rafe Judkins for Amazon Prime Video, and it is based on the book series of the same name, written by Robert Jordan. Season one premiered in 2021, while season three aired this year. It was cancelled in May, leading to the formation of the Savewot group.
