As part of Culver City’s celebration of the 25thanniversary of the Performing Arts Grant Program, Derek Gripper’s African string trio will be performing on Wednesday, March 13 at 8 p.m. the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, 6300 Hetzler Rd., Culver City. The evening will feature extraordinary transcriptions of kora legends Toumani DiabateÌ and BallakeÌ Sissoko. The trio will also perform original and classical works from Gripper’s oeuvre. Midday Music @ Grace Lutheran Church

Four Los Angeles-area cantors will be featured in the MidDay at Grace concert on Thursday, March 14 at noon at Grace Lutheran Church, 4427 Overland Ave., Culver City. Cantors Jay Frailich, Lonee Frailich, Bryce Megdal and Rebekah Mirsky will perform an eclectic mix of original compositions, Jewish music, and Broadway favorites. After the 45-minute concert, cookies and coffee will be served and an opportunity to speak to the cantors in the Fireside room next door.

Achievable Foundation Wine Testing @ AR Cucina

The Achievable Foundation, a nonprofit community health center focusing on individuals with developmental disabilities, will be host an exclusive wine tasting in partnership with Chateau Ste. Michelle winery on Sunday, March 31 from 1 to 4 p.m. at AR Cucina, 9531 Culver Blvd., Culver City.

This event will feature a five-course tasting menu, expertly paired with some of Chateau Ste. Michelle’s award-winning wines. Chateau Ste. Michelle’s National Wine Educator will be on hand to curate the entire event. Cost is $100 general ticket, and $200 VIP ticket. BOOK SALE AT JULIAN DIXON @ Julian Dixon Library

Hundreds of quality, children’s used books will be available for sale at bargain prices this Saturday, September 14, in the lobby of the Culver City Julian Dixon Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The selection for children’s books ranges from board books for younger readers to novels for young adults and every age in between. Many books are in nearly new condition with some being brand new. Sales will only be made with cash or checks. All proceeds benefit the Julian Dixon Library.

There will be a presentation regarding the status of the I-10/Robertson/National Area Circulation Improvement Project on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton High School, 2955 Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), in partnership with the City of Culver City and Caltrans, is studying ways to improve the Robertson/National on/off-ramps and the connections to local streets, simplify traffic movements and minimize traffic impacts from the Culver City Expo Station and other new developments in the area.

CRE (Create, Reflect, Empower) Outreach will showcase “POINT OF EXTINCTION,” a science-fiction political thriller written by Cosette Ruesga and David Shecter featuring original songs by Laurie Grant on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. The production is directed by Greg Shane, artistic director of CRE Outreach and performed by Theatre by the Blind, the only blind theater company in the country producing original works. The show premiered at The Blue Door in June 2019 and is back by popular demand at the Robert Frost Auditorium located on 4401 Elenda St, Culver City. The event’s aim is to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in the arts.
