Sparks continue as best in the West

The Los Angeles Sparks moved into sole possession of first place this week after their 80-73 win over the Connecticut Sun last Sunday at the Staples Center. They are currently 13-1 at press time and played Dallas last Tuesday (June 28) and they face Atlanta on Thursday (today) at 12:30 p.m.

The Sparks continue their six game home stand on Sunday at 2 p.m. against New York and their last two games are against Indiana on Wednesday July 6, at 7:30 p.m. and Washington on Sunday, July 10 at 4 p.m. All of their home games are played at the Staples Center.

“Connecticut was a team that was hungry for a win,” said Sparks head coach Brian Agler last Sunday after their win over the Sun. “Teams that are hungry are dangerous. We were sluggish in the first half but we played much better in the second half. Sometimes we have a tunnel mind set on offense and we come down the court and look for one thing.”
