Future looking up for Culver girls’ volleyball

Last February three of Culver City’s girl volleyball club teams traveled to Arizona to participate in the Fiesta Festival AAU Volleyball Tournament. The 13, 14, and 15-year-old teams all made the journey to Glendale, Ariz. to take part in the competition.

Teams from different parts of the nation came to Arizona to see what team is the best in their age group. Culver City’s 14 and under team coached by former Culver City grad Eric Burns finished third out of 80 teams and finished with 7-1 tournament record and was one game away from the finals.

“We had a good tournament,” said Burns. “The girls played hard , they stayed focused and most importantly all of the girls grew closer together.”

The Culver City High School girls volleyball teams had a great year last season and now the future looks even brighter.
