Jordan Caines of Culver City was the starting pitcher in the victory over El Segundo to propel the Westchester Babe Ruth 14 years and under baseball team to a Southern California State Baseball championship. He also had a key hit in an early round victory over Heartwell.
Rested for the first two series and ready to contribute if the need arises, Jason Zeidman of Culver City is the only 13 year old on the 14 year old team.
The team travels this week to Surprise, Arizona to compete for the United States Pacific Southwest Regional title. The winner will compete in Utah in the Babe Ruth 14U World Series.
