Angel City Derby hosts opponents for hard-hitting double header

Angel City’s all-star team, The Hollywood Scarlets return to their home venue at Culver City Memorial Veterans Memorial Auditorium June 15 to face off against The Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls All Stars.

The Hollywood Scarlets are hot this season with a record of 10 – 1 and sitting at the No. 7 position in the worldwide rankings of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.

The Scarlets bout will heat things up for game two: a matchup between Angel City’s Rocket Queens and the travel team from the Inland Empire Derby Divas, The Inland Heat.

The Rocket Queens will have to play smart to stay in the game against this hard-hitting, ferocious team.

Established in 2006, the Angel City Derby Girls are Los Angeles’ only nationally ranked competitive Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby League.

The team is a group of dedicated athletes who have come together in a grass-roots effort to organize a democratic, DIY, member-driven and operated roller derby league that abides by the rules and regulations of the only international governing body of roller derby- the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.

The Culver City Veterans Auditorium is located at 4117 Overland Ave.

Free parking is available at the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://acdgjune2013.eventbrite.com or day-of-bout at the door; $13 online or $15 at the door for General Admission Adults and $10 for children under 10.

VIP seating is $25, which includes a “Pop Box” with snack, drink and goodies. $10 for students and military(with I.D. door only).

Concessions will be sold before and during the bout, including beer and wine for those 21+ with a valid I.D.
