Culver City Middle School Panthers win another championship

Four seasons of FIYA Volleyball, four championships for Culver City Middle School.

The Panthers defeated 2-0 Chime from the valley in the semifinals and Magnolia Science from Bell 2-0 in the final. The Panthers were able to dominate the field even after the tournament was expanded to include more teams from West Los Angeles, Metro area of Los Angeles and the Valley.

Last month the Culver City middle school girls’ volleyball team captured its second major tournament championship this season when it won the FIYA title for the fourth year in a row.

The semifinals and the finals took place at La Tijera Middle School and Culver City had to play two games in one night to reach the final. Head coach Marty Siegal’s Panthers were undefeated in the tournament. The girls also won the Marlborough tournament last month.
