Councilmen make their pitches at Little League opener

Mayor Micheal O’Leary and Councilman Andy Weissman showed their best stuff on the mound, throwing the ceremonial first pitches at the recent opening of the Culver City Little League season at Bill Botts Field. Celebrating its 55th year, the Culver City Little League operates as an all-volunteer program, serving 700 boys and girls, ages 4-16, in 10 different divisions of baseball and softball programs, relying on the support of families, local businesses, corporate and community sponsors. Key sponsors include Bunnin Chevrolet, Sony Pictures, Pacific Alarms, Tito’s Tacos, 7-11 (Berryman store) and the Culver City News.

Former Councilman Scott Malsin was among the crowd of more than 1,000 on opening day.
