Local dogs find it easy being green | Mon, Apr 12 2010 12:55 PM

Leprechauns celebrated St. Patrick’s Day early at the first annual O’FLuFF’s Lucky Charms block party event Saturday, March 13. The fundraising event, held on the block between Doggie Central and Zoom Room in Culver City, was hosted by comedienne and actress Debra Skelton from MADtv and benefited the Four Legged Friends Foundation.

“It was so cold out and I am really amazed at how many people still showed up to support the cause,” said Four Legged Friends Foundation founder Sandra Lollino.

The evening began with furry dogs accompanied by celebrity guests walking the “green” carpet showing their support for animals in need. More fun times followed as people and dogs dressed in green made their way into the block party. Guests enjoyed watching the eco-green friendly fashion show by Pinups for Pups while tasting some green beer, learning more about their dog through an animal communicator or having an animal masseuse give their dog a massage.

Dogs wagged their tails and enjoyed special treats while mingling with other doggie guests. A variety of pet vendors and art exhibitors also supported the cause. The highlight of the evening was the St. Patrick’s Day doggie costume contest.

“Thank you to all who attended for their support and we wish everyone a safe and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” Lollino said.

Four Legged Friends Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to saving lives by assisting financially challenged individuals with veterinary care, supporting local rescue groups with adoptions, and educating the public on pet overpopulation.
