Linwood Howe PTA earns honors

Honored: Membership Chair Ashoo Jain and former President Yvonne McLauchlan (pictured).

The Linwood E. Howe Elementary PTA has received two awards for membership. The first award is for increasing its membership rolls for five years in a row.

The second award is for having the most successful 2013-2014 membership drive in the entire Thirty-Third District of the California State PTA, which includes PTAs at more than 360 schools. Lin Howe PTA met the State PTA’s Teachers Matter challenge by enrolling every full-time, home-based, credentialed teacher at its school in the PTA. In addition, its total membership increased by more than 70 percent, which is nothing short of amazing.

These membership achievements enable Lin Howe PTA to provide even more events, programs, materials and equipment to enrich the education of their children. They also add strength to our local, state and national PTAs when they advocate for children from Culver City to Washington, D.C. Legislator’s listen because they know that PTA has over 3,200 members here in Culver City, and millions more across the nation.

None of Lin Howe PTA’s accomplishments would have been possible without the dedication and inspiring leadership of Membership Chair Ashoo Jain and former President Yvonne McLauchlan. These achievements reflect the vitality of the Lin Howe community and demonstrate its dedication to the welfare, enrichment and education of our young Vikings.
