Stop ‘whining’ and appreciate America

What is this woman writing about? (March 9, front page story:  Local woman stands up for human rights) Women have never had it so good as they have now. They can do whatever they want.

And what racism is she talking about… illegal immigration is against the law. We are a nation of laws and no one should be encouraged to break them, not matter how much they want to come here. And watching carefully those who do not want to observe our laws should not be allowed into our country. Islam has a political ideology, which is part of it and is not compatible Western Values – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – and their leaders and books tell us their goal, if we only take the time to learn about it. Obviously, it does not apply to all people of that faith, but many do not read their literature either.

Fifty to 60 years ago there was discrimination against women, yes, and I know that from personal experience. But as a divorced mother of three daughters I had to go back to work to support my children and was able to accomplish what I never even thought about as a stay-at-home Mom.

I was an executive for a major non-profit organization, a stockbroker, and had my own businesses for the last 35 years. And I didn’t go to college, which probably is why I accomplished much of what I did, even though my immigrant father from Russia wanted me to.

But my biggest accomplishment is that I was able to raise three beautiful daughters who are good people with good values. Nothing I could have done in the business world can compare to that.

And for that I am forever grateful. So please stop whining about Trump or needing a specific goal to rally around, or wage gaps, which will always exist within business because mothers at home have an important job to do… the working world will always be there. Please concentrate on raising your children to appreciate what this country has to offer.
